Antique lightening rod ball (globe).
The glass is pleated and amethyst (faded) in color. The color is looks mainly white, but the amethyst can be detected on the inside and around the ends..
Ball measures approximately 5” tall, 14” around and weigh approximately 11.6 ounces
No cracks, heavy chipping is present around the edges and there are other signs of wear consistent with age, use and storage.
